History

Bitchū-Takamatsu Station opened on 15 November 1904 with the opening of the Kibi Line as Inari Station, located 11.0 kilometres from Okayama in what is now Kita-ku of the city. It was renamed Bitchū-Takamatsu on 9 February 1931 and came under West Japan Railway Company at the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. The station is at ground level, with two opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge and a concrete station building adjacent to platform 2. It is no longer staffed.
