History
Marine Park Station opened on 21 February 1990 as the southern terminus of the Kobe New Transit Rokko Island Line, an automated guideway transit reaching Sumiyoshi 4.5 kilometres to the north. The station is in Mukōyō-chō, Higashinada-ku, Kobe, and has a single elevated island platform serving two tracks; in normal operation trains depart from track 2, while track 1 is used only during the weekday morning peak. Service was suspended on 17 January 1995 by the Great Hanshin earthquake and resumed on 12 May 1995 when the Island Kitaguchi-to-Marine Park section reopened. Since 1 July 2022 the station has carried the secondary name "Kobe International University-mae" under a naming-rights contract.

Notes
Until naming rights were transferred to Kobe International University in 2022, this end-of-line stop was the obvious access point for the Dekapatos seaside water park, which sits immediately next to the station.
