History
Takaida-Chūō Station opened on 15 March 2008 with the partial inauguration of the Osaka Higashi Line between Hanaten and Kyūhōji, sitting directly above—but with no fare-paid connection to—the Osaka Metro Chūō Line's Takaida Station. The name was finalised on 23 August 2007 to distinguish it from the existing Takaida Station on the Yamatoji Line in Kashiwara; the prefix "Chūō" reflects its location at the Chūō-ōdōri intersection rather than the geographical centre of the Takaida district. Through-rapid services began calling here on 16 March 2019 when the full Osaka Higashi Line opened.
