History
JR-Kawachi-Eiwa Station opened on 15 March 2008 with the partial inauguration of the Osaka Higashi Line between Hanaten and Kyūhōji, taking the "JR" prefix on 23 August 2007 to distinguish it from Kawachi-Eiwa Station on the adjacent Kintetsu Nara Line, with which it shares no fare-paid connection. The elevated single-island platform serves trains up to eight cars long. With the full opening of the Osaka Higashi Line on 16 March 2019 the station was reclassified into the "Osaka City" fare zone, and JR West through-rapid services began calling here alongside neighbouring Takaida-Chūō.
