History
Saidaiji Station opened on 1 September 1962 on the Japanese National Railways (JNR) Akō Line in what is now Higashi-ku of Okayama City. The station passed to West Japan Railway Company on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of JNR. It serves a residential area east of central Okayama and features one side platform and one island platform connected by a footbridge, with a staffed ticket gate. The station sits 51.2 km from the Akō Line's terminus at Aioi and 47.0 km from Banshū-Akō.
