History

Ōdomi Station opened on 1 September 1962 as a passenger-only, unstaffed halt on the JNR Akō Line during the extension between Imbe and Higashi-Okayama. It passed to West Japan Railway Company on 1 April 1987 following the privatisation of JNR. ICOCA acceptance was introduced in September 2007 with a simplified ticket gate, and barrier-free station-front facilities including an accessible toilet were completed in February 2023. The station sits in the rural Ōku area of Setouchi City, serving a quiet residential and agricultural neighbourhood.
