History

Hayashisaki-Matsuekaigan Station opened on 3 May 1941 as Dentetsu-Hayashisaki Station on the Sanyo Electric Railway Main Line, primarily to carry workers to the adjacent Kawasaki Aircraft factory in Akashi. The platforms have been linked since opening by an underground passage, which was closed during the 1945 wartime air raids and reopened in April 1966 when the station building was rebuilt. The facility was refurbished again in October 1988 and took its current name on 7 April 1991. Today it has two opposed ground-level side platforms, no assigned platform numbers, and is normally unstaffed; the station carries number SY 19.

Notes

The unusually wide gap between the up and down tracks marks the former location of a turning siding that once stood east of the present platforms.
