History
Shin-Imamiya-Ekimae Station (HN52) is a Hankai Tramway Hankai Line tram stop in Naniwa-ku, Osaka, beneath the elevated JR West and Nankai 新今宮 Station. It opened on 1 December 1911 as Minami-Kasumichō Station on the original Hankai Electric Tramway, was absorbed by Nankai Railway in 1915, Kinki Nippon Railway in 1944, Nankai Electric Railway in 1947, and the present second-generation Hankai Tramway in 1980. The stop was renamed Shin-Imamiya-Ekimae on 1 December 2014. The station building was destroyed by arson during the 1990 Kamagasaki riot.
