History
Kintetsu-Kōriyama Station opened on 1 April 1921 as Kōriyama Station on the Osaka Electric Tramway Unebi Line. The operator rebranded itself in 1928, prompting a name change to Daiki Kōriyama Station. A 15 March 1941 merger with Sangu Express Railway created Kansai Express Railway, and the station became Kankyū Kōriyama Station. Further wartime consolidation with Nankai Electric Railway on 1 June 1944 produced Kinki Nippon Railway, and the station was renamed Kinki Nihon Kōriyama Station. The current short form, Kintetsu Kōriyama, took effect on 1 March 1970. The above-ground station has two side platforms connected by a level crossing, with the building on the platform 1 side and an automatic ticket gate on platform 2.
