History
Minami-Tatsumi Station opened on 2 December 1981 as the eastern terminus of the Osaka Municipal Subway Sennichimae Line when the line was extended from Shin-Fukae. The station, station number S24, sits beneath National Route 479 in Ikuno-ku, Osaka, on an underground island platform. Platform-edge doors entered service on 26 April 2014. Following the dissolution of the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau and corporatisation on 1 April 2018, the station became part of Osaka Metro. A long-discussed eastward extension to Kintetsu's Mito Station has not progressed beyond proposal.

Notes
An eastward extension of the Sennichimae Line from Minami-Tatsumi to Kintetsu's Mito Station has been on paper for decades but remains unrealised.
