History

Fuminosato Station opened on 27 November 1980 on the Tanimachi Line, on the date the line was extended from Tennōji to Yaominami. The station serves the Showa-chō district of Abeno-ku, Osaka, and stands as the successor station to the Nankai Hirano Line's former Fuminosato (Fuminosato) tram stop (the Nankai light-rail route having been replaced by this segment of the subway). Operations passed from the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau to Osaka Metro on 1 April 2018. Platform-edge doors were installed on 6 December 2025.

Fuminosato has a turn-back siding on the Yaominami side, and on weekdays during the 08:00-09:00 and 17:00-21:00 windows trains both originate here and terminate here, including services towards Miyakojima and Dainichi.
