History
Kitabatake Station (HN05) is a Hankai Tramway Uemachi Line tram stop in Abeno-ku, Osaka. It opened in October 1910 with the original Nankai Uemachi Line and successively belonged to Kinki Nippon Railway from June 1944, Nankai Electric Railway from June 1947, and the present second-generation Hankai Tramway from December 1980. The stop's name comes from the Kitabatake residential district, named after Kitabatake Akiie, the Nanboku-chō-period commander who fought and died in this area in 1338.

Notes
Kitabatake takes its name from Kitabatake Akiie, the 14th-century Nanboku-chō commander, who fell in battle nearby in 1338; the district was later renamed in his memory.
