History

Hattorigawa Station opened on 15 December 1930 with the inauguration of the Osaka Electric Railway's Shigi Line. The operator was absorbed by Kansai Express Railway on 15 March 1941 and by Kintetsu Railway on 1 June 1944. Platform improvement works were completed and brought into service on 15 April 2005, and PiTaPa fares began on 1 April 2007. The single ground-level side platform serves both directions of the short branch from Kawachi-Yamamoto, with the ticket gate at the Shigisanguchi end of the platform. The surrounding district is dense residential land notable for its nurseries and ornamental-plant growers.

Notes

The line's gradient through this neighbourhood is steep enough at 40 per mille that the platform itself has to be flattened to roughly 10 per mille so that trains can stand level at the doors.
