History
Ichinomoto Station opened on 11 May 1898 when Nara Railway extended its line between Kyobate and Sakurai, serving the present-day Tenri area of Nara Prefecture. Kansai Railway absorbed Nara Railway in 1905, and the line was nationalised in 1907. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, the station passed to JR West and is administered by Oji Station. The station sits on the Sakurai Line as rail infrastructure, but since 2010 trains have operated under the Man-yo Mahoroba Line branding. Two opposed side platforms connect via a footbridge, and the station is unattended.
