History
Sumiyoshi-Toriimae Station (HN12) is a Hankai Tramway Hankai Line tram stop in Sumiyoshi 2-chōme, Sumiyoshi-ku, Osaka, opposite Sumiyoshi Taisha. It opened on 1 December 1911 with the opening of the original Hankai Electric Tramway. The line passed to Nankai Railway (1915), Kinki Nippon Railway (June 1944), Nankai Electric Railway (June 1947), and the present Hankai Tramway in December 1980. During the New Year traffic regulations, when Hankai-Line trams from Abikomichi or Hamadera-ekimae do not stop at the next-door Sumiyoshi stop, this stop becomes a designated walking-transfer point with Sumiyoshi.

Notes
During the New Year holidays, when Hankai trams from Abikomichi or Hamadera-ekimae skip the next-door Sumiyoshi stop due to traffic regulations, the official Hankai walking-transfer between the line's two directions is rerouted through Sumiyoshi-Toriimae.
