History
Suminoekōen Station opened on 9 November 1972 in Suminoe-ku, Osaka. It serves both the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line (Y21) and the Nankō Port Town Line (New Tram) (P18), as the terminus of each. The Yotsubashi Line uses an underground island platform with two tracks on the second basement level, while the Port Town Line uses an elevated island platform with two tracks at second-floor level. The station shares its name with the adjacent Suminoe Park and stands near the Suminoe ward office, the public library and the Boat Race Suminoe venue.
