History
Oda Station opened on 11 January 1999 with the inauguration of the Ibara Railway Ibara Line. It stands a short distance east of the former Bitchū-Oda station on the now-defunct Ikasa Railway Yakage Line, which had closed decades earlier.

The station is an elevated single-track stop on an embankment, and although there is a building under the platform on the southeast side, the window has been turned into a rental-bicycle office and no ticketing is provided; the station nameplate is illustrated with the fireflies of nearby Unai Hotaru Park.
