History
Yamatogawa Station (HN16) is a Hankai Tramway Hankai Line tram stop in Sakai-ku, Sakai, just south of the Yamato River bridge that gives it its name. It opened on 1 December 1911 with the original Hankai Electric Tramway. The stop was transferred to Nankai Railway in 1915, Kinki Nippon Railway in June 1944, and Nankai Electric Railway in June 1947. Like the neighbouring Hosoigawa, Yamatogawa was closed at some point before 1953 and reopened on 30 March 1955 — an unofficial closure not noted in the standard Hankai sequence.
