History

Takasu-jinja Station (HN17) is a Hankai Tramway Hankai Line tram stop in Sakai-ku, Sakai. It opened on 1 December 1911 with the original Hankai Electric Tramway, named for the nearby Takasu Shrine. Operator changes mirrored those of the rest of the original Hankai network — Nankai Railway took over in 1915, Kinki Nippon Railway in the June 1944 wartime merger, Nankai Electric Railway in June 1947, and the present second-generation Hankai Tramway in December 1980.
