History
Hashio Station opened on 26 April 1918 with the Yamato Railway's inaugural run from Shin-Oji to Tawaramoto, now Nishi-Tawaramoto. The line was regauged to standard gauge and electrified on 15 June 1948. A corporate merger on 1 October 1961 placed the station on the Shigiikoma Electric Railway, and a further merger on 1 October 1964 transferred it to Kintetsu, where it sits on the Tawaramoto Line, 5.6 kilometres from Shin-Oji. PiTaPa acceptance started on 1 April 2007 and Hashio became fully unstaffed on 1 October 2011. The two opposing side platforms accept up to three-car formations.
