History

Ise-Yachi Station opened on 5 December 1935 as a stop on the Japanese Government Railways Meishō Line, later operated by Japanese National Railways. Freight services were withdrawn on 1 October 1963, baggage handling ended on 1 February 1984, and the station has been unstaffed since 1 April 1986. With the division and privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987, operation transferred to the Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). Between October 2009 and March 2016 the section between Ieki and Ise-Okitsu was closed because of damage from Typhoon Melor, and a replacement bus service called at this station during the suspension.
