History
Uematsu Station opened on 20 March 1988 with the inauguration of the Honshi-Bisan Line (the Seto-Ōhashi Line) operated by JR West. The site had not been included in the original plans because of its proximity to Hikosaki Station on the Uno Line, but the station was added in response to requests from the local community. It is the only station on the Honshi-Bisan Line within Okayama City limits and consists of two opposed elevated side platforms with station facilities underneath; it is unstaffed.
