History
Kanahashi Station opened on 21 April 1913 on what is today the Sakurai Line between Unebi and Takada. The station became unstaffed in October 1970 and was transferred to JR West at the 1 April 1987 JNR privatisation. ICOCA support began on 1 March 2005 via a simple IC-only gate, and from March 2010 passenger services have used the Man-yō Mahoroba Line branding. The station retains its raised single side platform serving a single bi-directional track, with the entrance on the Sakurai-end side and an ICOCA-rechargeable automatic ticket machine in the waiting room.
