History
Miyamachi Station opened on 27 March 1930 as Gekūmae Station on the Sangu Express Electric Railway, in present-day Ise, Mie Prefecture. It took its present name on 20 March 1933. Through mergers it became part of Kansai Express Railway on 15 March 1941, and of Kintetsu Railway on 1 June 1944. A third platform was added in December 1971 for trains terminating at the station, fell into disuse from 2006, and was removed during 2006. The current station building was completed on 22 March 1997; PiTaPa support began on 1 April 2007, and the station was de-staffed on 28 July 2018.
