History
Tomo Station opened on 20 August 1994 in Asaminami Ward, Hiroshima, as part of the inaugural Astram Line operated by Hiroshima Rapid Transit. Its secondary name, "Kōryō Gakuen-mae", reflects the adjacent Kōryō High School. Station operations were contracted out in 2000. Express services that ran on the line between 20 March 1999 and 20 March 2004 bypassed Tomo; with their abolition every train again called there. PASPY IC card acceptance began on 8 August 2009, and platform PA and departure displays were upgraded in 2015. The station consists of an elevated island platform serving two tracks, with the ticket gates one level below. Its assigned station colour is yellow.
