History
Shionomiya Station opened on 15 August 1911 in present-day Kawachinagano, Osaka Prefecture, on what is now the Kintetsu Nagano Line. It carries station number O22 and sits 10.5 km from the line's terminus at Furuichi and 28.8 km from Ōsaka-Abenobashi. Originally laid out with two side platforms and two tracks, the northbound track toward Ōsaka-Abenobashi was removed in June 1966; the disused second platform is still visible. The current station serves a single ground-level side platform handling one bidirectional track. The station building is small and unstaffed.
