History

Nakasuji Station is an elevated stop on the Hiroshima Rapid Transit Astram Line, located in Asaminami-ku, Hiroshima. It opened on 20 August 1994 as part of the original Astram Line between Hondōri and Kōiki-kōen-mae. When the rapid-service "express" pattern was introduced in March 1999 the station was bypassed, but the express category was abolished in March 2004 and all trains have called there since. PASPY was introduced on 8 August 2009, and in 2015 the platform indicators and station announcements were upgraded to match those at Shin-Hakushima.

Notes

Nakasuji has its own bus terminal built by the city of Hiroshima when the Astram Line opened, but because the nearby Hiroshima Interchange diverts traffic to it, the terminal is used almost exclusively by airport limousines and intercity coaches rather than local buses.
