History

Ichio Station is a Kintetsu Yoshino Line stop in Takatori, Nara Prefecture, located 6.0 kilometres from the line's start at Kashiharajingū-mae and 45.7 kilometres from Ōsaka Abenobashi, with station number F46. It opened on 5 December 1923 on the Yoshino Railway when the line between Yoshinoguchi and the original Kashihara-Jingū-mae was completed. The Yoshino Railway was absorbed by the Osaka Electric Tramway on 1 August 1929, and a series of wartime mergers — into Kansai Express Railway in March 1941 and then into Kintetsu on 1 June 1944 — brought it to its present operator. PiTaPa support was added on 1 April 2007, and the station was converted to all-day unstaffed operation on 1 October 2011.
