History
Kōiki-kōen-mae Station is the terminus of the Hiroshima Rapid Transit Astram Line, located in Asaminami-ku, Hiroshima. It opened on 20 August 1994 with the rest of the Astram Line. The station serves Hiroshima Big Arch stadium and Hiroshima Shudo University, the latter giving rise to the secondary name "Shudo University Mae". It became a stop for the rapid service introduced on 20 March 1999, which was then abolished on 20 March 2004 — after which all trains call again. PASPY was introduced on 8 August 2009. The line was originally planned to continue to Nishi-Hiroshima Station, and a short stretch of elevated track beyond the platforms still exists but currently functions only as a turnback siding.

Notes
Trains do not simply reverse at this terminus: arriving services discharge passengers on platform 1, run forward into the unused stub track beyond the station, then back into platform 2 to depart toward Hondōri.
