History
Jōhoku Station opened on 20 August 1994 as part of the inaugural Hiroshima New Transit Line 1 (Astram Line), operated by Hiroshima Rapid Transit. The station sits in Nishi-Hakushima in Naka-ku, Hiroshima, between Kenchō-mae and Shin-Hakushima. When express services were introduced in March 1999 it became a station that those expresses bypassed; the express category was discontinued in March 2004, after which every train again called at Jōhoku. PASPY IC cards became valid in August 2009.
