History
Nabekura Station opened on 17 July 1962 as a temporary stop on the Japanese National Railways Yamaguchi Line, between Jifuku and Tokusa, and was elevated to a regular passenger station on 1 October 1963. With the 1 April 1987 breakup of Japanese National Railways, the station passed to the West Japan Railway Company. Service was suspended on 28 July 2013 between Miyano and Masuda after a torrential rainstorm damaged the track; the Jifuku–Tsuwano segment did not fully reopen until 23 August 2014. The station has a single side platform with no station building; passengers enter the platform directly through a gate.
