History

Nagusa Station opened on 1 April 1961 as a halt on the Yamaguchi Line in the city of Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and is operated today by West Japan Railway Company. The station consists of a single side platform serving one bidirectional track, with no station building — only a small shelter on the platform — and is unstaffed. Operation transferred from the Japan National Railways to JR West on 1 April 1987, the date of the JNR reorganisation. The station sits approximately 41.4 km from the line's terminus at Shin-Yamaguchi, in a remote stretch of the route, and recorded an average of six daily users in fiscal 2020.
