History

Rokumanji Station opened on 18 November 1911 as a stop on the Tōsan Electric Tramway, in what is now Mure-chō, Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture. After a 1914 relocation toward the Yakuri side and a 1916 corporate merger placing it under Shikoku Hydroelectric Power, the station was transferred to the Sanuki Electric Railway in 1942 and to the Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railway (Kotoden) on 1 November 1943. Service was suspended on 26 January 1945 as part of wartime line discontinuation between Yakuri and Kotoden-Shido; when through service resumed on 9 October 1949 the station reopened as Mure Station, reverting to its present name on 1 February 1955. A subsequent relocation of approximately 100 m toward Yakuri took place before 1974. The station has a single side platform and is unstaffed.
