History

Miyajima Boat Race Jō Station is a Hiroden temporary stop on the Hiroden Miyajima Line in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima, serving the adjacent Miyajima Speedboat Racing Stadium. It opened on 31 October 1954 as Kyōteijō-mae Station, just days before the stadium itself opened in November of the same year. Because boat racing — including off-track wagering — runs roughly five days a week or around 300 days a year, the stop sees frequent service despite its temporary classification. It was renamed to its current name on 1 April 2019. Because it is a temporary station, it is excluded from Hiroden's system-wide station numbering.

Notes

Despite being a temporary stop subject to closure during pandemic-era no-spectator race meetings, it sits just 200 m from Hiroden-Miyajimaguchi — the line's actual terminus — and within easy walking distance of JR West's Miyajimaguchi Station.
