History
Shimoisaka Station opened on 15 July 1938 on the Wakayama Line in what is now Kinokawa, Wakayama Prefecture. With the 1 April 1987 privatisation of the Japan National Railways, Shimoisaka came under the West Japan Railway Company. The station consists of a single bi-directional side platform with no station building, only a weather shelter, and is unstaffed.
