History
Okada opened on 15 March 1927 as a station on the original Kotohira Electric Railway, and became a Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad (Kotoden) Kotohira Line station through the 1 November 1943 wartime merger. To better serve the Leoma World amusement park, the station was moved 236 m closer to Kotoden-Kotohira on 20 April 1991. The old station, like the present one, had an island platform with two tracks.
