History

Seiryu Miharashi Station opened on 19 March 2019 on the Nishikigawa Seiryū Line, operated by the third-sector Nishikigawa Railway. The roughly 100-million-yen project was funded from prefectural grants tied to the relocation of US naval aircraft to MCAS Iwakuni and built as a scenic viewing platform overlooking the Nishiki River. Because no road or footpath reaches the station, construction materials had to be hauled in by track motor cars at night after revenue service ended. Only chartered event trains call here, and passengers cannot leave the platform.

Notes

Construction materials had to be ferried in by track maintenance vehicles overnight after the line's last train, because no road or footpath reaches the site.
