History
Okazakimae Station opened on 15 February 1916 as part of the Sandō Light Railway. The line passed through Sandō Railway, Wakayama Railway, Wakayama Electric Tramway, and Nankai Electric Railway before transferring to Wakayama Electric Railway on 1 April 2006. The station was unstaffed on 1 October 2000 following a wider rationalisation of Kishigawa Line stations. The single island platform with two tracks serves a bidirectional pass-through arrangement; the station retains no station building. The surrounding area is residential, and the station's passenger base is dominated by students of Wakayama Shin-Ai Women's Junior College and other nearby schools.
