History
Nagato-Nagasawa Station opened on 25 November 1915 as a temporary stop on the Onoda Light Railway in what is now Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It was elevated to a full station on 1 May 1943, the same year the Onoda Railway was nationalised. After brief reorganisation into the Ube-nishi Line in 1947 it returned to the Onoda Line designation on 1 February 1948. JNR privatisation on 1 April 1987 transferred operations to JR West. The unstaffed halt now consists of one side platform serving a single bi-directional track, 3.2 km from the line's Sanyō Main Line junction at Inō and 5.0 km from the terminus at Ube-Shinkawa.
