History
Nishi-Kurosaki Station opened on 25 October 1992 as a stop on the Nishitetsu Kitakyushu Line, built next to the new Nishi-Kurosaki Bus Terminal to ease transfers when the Sunatsu - Kurosakiekimae section of the tramway was abandoned and replaced by buses. After the rest of the Nishitetsu Kitakyushu Line closed on 26 November 2000, the station passed to Chikuhō Electric Railroad and became part of its line. From July 2015 the Kurosaki Orthopaedic Hospital purchased naming rights and the secondary name "Kurosaki Orthopaedic Hospital Station" was added. On 1 October 2021 the station was temporarily closed for approximately four years to allow construction of the National Route 3 Kurosaki Bypass; as of April 2026 it has not yet reopened.

Notes
The 0.2 km gap between Nishi-Kurosaki and the next station, Kurosakiekimae, is tied with Matsuura Railway's Sasebo-Chūō - Naka-Sasebo section as the shortest distance between adjacent stations on any Japanese railway line.
