History
Jōno Station opened on 9 January 1985 with the Kitakyūshū Monorail Kokura Line. ICOCA/SUGOCA-family card use ('mono SUGOCA') began on 1 October 2015. The station carries number 06 and is the northernmost monorail station in Kokuraminami-ku.

Despite being surrounded by residential streets and located near Kokura Commerce High School, Jōno had the lowest daily ridership of any Kitakyūshū Monorail station in fiscal 2019. It is also about a ten-minute walk from the separate JR Kyushu Jōno Station, which lies roughly 500 m to the east.
