History

Anō Station opened on 1956-03-21 on the Chikuhō Electric Railway Line in what is now Anō 1-chōme, Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture. It carries station number CK05. Originally a ground-level station, it was elevated on 1982-11-17 because the adjacent level crossing had become a traffic bottleneck. The two side platforms now sit above the road, with an internet café operating beneath the viaduct. The station is unstaffed, although a season-ticket sales office formerly stood on site.

Notes

The station was elevated in 1982 specifically to remove a level-crossing bottleneck on the adjacent road; the original ground-level station served only 26 years.
