History

Reiwa Costa Yukuhashi Station opened on 24 August 2019 on the Tagawa Line of the third-sector Heisei Chikuhō Railway in the city of Yukuhashi, Fukuoka Prefecture. Construction had been scheduled to complete in 2018 but was delayed by the July 2018 floods. Because the opening fell just after Japan's transition to the Reiwa era, the prefix "Reiwa" was added to the name, making this the first new station to use the new era name. The station, numbered HC30, has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track and was built largely of locally sourced hinoki and cedar at a cost of about 96 million yen.

Notes

It is the first railway station in Japan to incorporate the era name "Reiwa" into its title, having opened less than four months after the new era began.
