History
Miyakoizumi Station opened on 1 October 1991 on the Tagawa Line of the third-sector Heisei Chikuhō Railway, in the city of Yukuhashi in Fukuoka Prefecture. The station sits 2.3 km from the start of the line at Yukuhashi and consists of a single side platform serving one bi-directional track, with no station building—only a platform shelter. The station is unstaffed and trains call about every 30 minutes. On 1 April 2009 the nearby industrial-valve manufacturer Okano Valve Mfg. acquired naming rights, giving the stop the formal alternate name Okano Valve-mae Miyakoizumi Station.
