History
Fureai-Shōriki Station opened on 22 March 1997 on the Ita Line of the third-sector Heisei Chikuhō Railway, in the town of Fukuchi in Fukuoka Prefecture. The station, numbered HC7, sits 7.6 km from the start of the line at Nōgata and was placed at the northern edge of the former Akaike town centre, in a residential area known as Akaike New Town. The unstaffed station consists of two opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge, with only a waiting shelter and no station building. It lies on a double-track section in a slightly depressed cutting, with ramp access making it wheelchair accessible.
