History

Nishibun Station opened on 1 July 2002 by the third-sector Tosa Kuroshio Railway as an intermediate stop on its newly constructed Asa Line between Gomen and Nahari. Located in the village of Geisei, Aki District, Kōchi Prefecture, the station carries the number GN32 and lies 16.4 kilometres from the line's starting point at Gomen. The facility consists of a single elevated side platform reached by a flight of steps from street level, with a shelter on the platform — divided into enclosed and open sections — replacing a station building. Local trains and morning rapid services have stopped at the station since 2021. Parking lots are provided near the entrance.
