Tateno Station opened on 1 November 1987 as an added station on the Amagi Railway Amagi Line, in Nagano, Kiyama-chō, Miyaki District, Saga Prefecture. It is the easternmost station in Saga Prefecture.

Tateno is an unstaffed single-platform station built beneath the Kyushu Expressway overpass, with a toilet beyond the Kiyama-side end of the platform that is not connected to mains water. The station is sandwiched between two large industrial estates — the Kiyama Industrial Park on the west side and the Tateno Industrial Park on the east — and the Kiyama Community Bus stops here as 'Amagi Tetsudō Tateno-eki'.
