History
Mada Station opened on 8 December 1921 as a stop on the Mitsui Electric Tramway. The company merged with the Kyushu Railway in 1924 and the line passed in turn to the Kyushu Electric Tramway on 19 September 1942. Three days later, on 22 September 1942, the operator renamed itself the Nishi-Nippon Railway, which still runs the station today as part of its Amagi Line. ICカード nimoca was introduced on 18 May 2008 and station numbering on 1 February 2017. A centralised station management system was adopted on 1 April 2021. The single side platform serves one bi-directional track and the station is unattended, with no station building.
