History
Kurume-Daigakumae Station opened on 11 March 2000 as a petitioned new station on the Kyūdai Main Line, with construction costs split between Kurume City and Kurume University. The city's announcement that it would ask JR to build a stop named "Kurume-Daigakumae" between Minami-Kurume and Mii dates from 7 March 1996; that August, a JR Kyūdai Line revitalisation council included it among several proposed new stops. SUGOCA service began on 1 December 2012, the ticket office closed on 11 March 2022, and on 1 October 2023 management was transferred from JR Kyushu Service Support to direct JR Kyushu operation. The station has a single ground-level side platform, and one round trip of the "Yufu" limited express stops here.

Notes
The station was created by joint petition: Kurume City and Kurume University each shouldered part of the construction cost, with the station deliberately named after the university campus it sits one minute on foot from.
