History
Yoshinobu Station, in Matsuno, Ehime Prefecture, opened on 12 December 1923 as Yoshino Station, the new terminus of the Uwajima Railway's narrow-gauge extension from Uwajima. When the Uwajima Railway was nationalised on 1 August 1933, the station passed to Japanese Government Railways and was later renamed Yoshinobu. On 26 March 1953 it ceased to be a terminus when the line was further extended to Ekawasaki. Privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 transferred control to JR Shikoku, which operates the station as Yodo Line stop G37, 53.0 km from Wakai. It is unstaffed and consists of two opposed side platforms serving two tracks, linked by a footbridge.

Notes
The station was originally written 吉野駅 and read "Yoshino" when it opened in 1923; the Japanese Government Railways changed the spelling to 吉野生 after nationalisation, while keeping the surrounding kanji's reading "Yoshinobu".
